I loved this book because on just about every page I was able to imagine myself bringing up my family in such an utopian setting. From the dog to the cat to the boating to the fishing, I felt In was with the author at the time. We need more books with a “chicken soup comfort food” setting.

This is an unbelievable story of grit & determination! Obviously there is a lot of love between Connie & Ann as well as Father - Son, daughters & others. It includes some hairraising experiencies as well as a lot of fun. The author opened up & shared his Saquish life with us. Thanks, Connie & Ann

The first-hand experience outlined in this book is completely authentic. It is presented in such a way that you really feel that you are involved in the building of the house, and later in the book you really feel like you are out there fishing. It is interesting and holds the attention throughout.
I liked the "How To" presentation of the story which really brought the dedication to the project and the genuine love of family to life.

I just finished this book with my wife. We know Saquish and the stories are wonderful. This is the perfect book for anyone who likes to "do their own stuff". We learned so much by reading Forty Years at Saquish Beach and had fun as well. Great read!
